  Richard Fox Joins Unsworth & Barra, PLC

We are pleased to announce that Richard J. Fox has joined the law firm of Unsworth and Barra, PLC of Essex Junction, VT. Richard will work primarily in the ABX Title Department focusing on real estate. He will also concentrate on landlord/tenant law, civil litigation and construction law. Attorney Fox graduated from Rutgers College with a B.A. in English, History, and Political Science, and received his Juris Doctorate from the George Washington University Law School.

Richard is admitted to practice law in both Vermont and Massachusetts, and also before the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Richard is a native Vermonter and currently resides in Shelburne, where he volunteers as an EMT with Shelburne Rescue and as a leader with Shelburne Cub Scout Pack 607.

Unsworth Presents for Institute for Paralegal Education

ESSEX JUNCTION, VT - Stephen Unsworth, senior partner in the law firm Unsworth & Barra PLC, in Essex Junction, recently presented for the Institute of Paralegal Education's seminar: "THE PROBATE PROCESS FROM START TO FINISH FOR PARALEGALS." This seminar was attended by professionals that are involved with the probate process. The seminar explored the many issues that surround the probate process. Stephen presented on the "Ethical Perils in the Probate Process" and "Closing the Estate."

Attorney Unsworth has over 30 years of experience, in providing quality estate planning and legacy wealth planning documents that include assistance with Trusts, Wills, Probate, Trust Administration, Powers of Attorney, as well as Family Limited Partnerships and Limited Liability Companies.

Stephen Unsworth is admitted to practice law in both Vermont and Maine. He is a member of the Vermont Bar Association, the Maine Bar Association and the Chittenden County Bar Association. He is the only Vermont member of the exclusive American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys, a national organization of attorneys specializing in estate planning. He is also a member of the Vermont Bar Association's Elder Law and Probate & Trust Sections.


Attorney, Stephen Unsworth, Appointed to Board of Governors of the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys

In his new capacity, Mr. Unsworth will serve as an advisor and help guide the direction of the 120-member organization. He joins eight other attorneys from around the country on the prestigious Board, which is the most important advisory panel to the senior management team at the Academy. Board members participate in research and development and provide feedback on all new Academy products and services.
